A bit slow for .223, IMHO. 6mmBR.com has a good section on .308 loadings in general, whereas Viht list their load data here.

(Hard to suggest a load without knowing what bullet you're using!)

OK, 168gr is well covered on that 6mmBR link I gave you, and Sierra list the following for their 168gr MK:

Viht N140 min: 38.9 max: 42.3

However, Varget and RL15 seem to give better speed, and from that 6mmBR link you'll see N140 doesn't get much of a mention for target loads (though N540 does) whereas Varget seems to be one of the "go to" powders.

I use N133 with 55 grain VMax in my .223. 24.5 grains but that is hot... Gives me 3300 fps which is pretty fast for the weight of bullet.

If you use this powder, start at least a grain lower than that...

the only reason you dont see Vit powders being used on the American forums like 6mm BR is they dont need to import it (and if they dint it very expensive) and they have all the american powder makers over threre,so they use what they have on the shelf of there gun shops

In this particular instance though, they do mention N540, just not N140 - plus, N133 is very much the 6PPC powder of choice over there too. My own experience is N140 is brilliant for light to medium weight-for-calibre bullets in a .308 sized case, but it's less good as you get heavier. In my .243 for example, it's fantastic with Gentner 66gr bullets, but is bettered by 2208 (Varget) and 2209 (H4350) for 75gr and above, especially in an AI case where I hit pressure signs with it before getting decent velocity.
