WEIHRAUCH HW95K-.22 OR .177

Postby BLACKBIRD-1897 » Sun Feb 03, 2013 9:26 pm

Hi all.,

:) I am looking to buy a new WEIHRAUCH HW95K in the next couple of weeks, should i go for a .22 or .177?

Is there much in it for hunting/targets?

Thanks in advance for any replies/help.

Aah... The 'BIG' question amongst airgunners.

.177 - Faster, flatter trajectory - Useful if you only have 12 ftlbs to play with.
.22 - Slower, loopier trajectory and some would argue less likely to 'shoot through' live quarry.

.177 is more forgiving, and a pellet to the brain is deadly in both cals. I'd go for the .177.

i am a big 22 fan, however unless you do a lot of close up feral pigeon work i would go with a 177,as the trajectory is more forgiving ;)

Typically 177 pellets are cheaper to shoot also and there seems to be a better selection of those pellets although it's been a while since I needed to buy 177 ammo.
The faster I go, the older I get.
