More than 1 section 1 on ticket?

Postby Judge Ali » Wed Mar 04, 2015 4:56 am

Has anyone got or heard of getting more than 1? I have 1 at present which is conditioned for PSG and vermin but want another strictly for PSG which would then make the one I have strictly for vermin. Not sure if this will warrant good cause in eyes of FEO? Am offshore at moment and will call her as soon as I get back to check but wonder if anyone knows or has dealt with this situation before?

Don't see why not 1 for each considering I have already been granted one for both....?

Ignoring the practical comps, Bisley and our club at least run target shotgun competitions shooting T&P 1, Multitarget, plus the Embassy Cup.

Bisley run them on the Spring Action Weekend, the Phoenix, the Autumn Action plus they run target shotgun weekends and Derby run them at the Derby Open as does Mattersey so there are ample competitions to enter.

There are classes for semi auto and manual shotguns.

So logically you need one of each in S1 to compete, don't you?

It would obviously make sense if they were both conditioned for vermin as well so that you don't need extra S2 shotguns in the house.

Sounds like "Good Reason" does it not?

Thankyou for some useful replies and info.

So ultimately it seems its no different than having 2 of anything else provided your good reason is accepted by FEO. Like 2 x .22lr because one is a NV set up,etc.

Will let you know how this progresses when I return home!

The original question concerned shotguns only with a mag capacity of more than three rounds, taking it into Section 1.

As with all Section 1 firearms you do have to show good reason which isn't difficult for rifles even in the same calibre but needs clarifying when it comes to shotguns.

I have four Section 1 shotguns. One is on there as a collectors kind of thing. It is a long story with that one but I got it all
the same. The other three are on vermin. Funnily enough they don't seem very happy that i want another one or two! which is a
shame.

Yup..same here. Two .308's and two .22LR. One for target and deer, one for target and bunnies. No problem with Merseyside Police. In fact I seem to recall being asked if I'd also like a slot for a .243 for "smaller deer and/or foxes". It took me all of half a second to agree with my FEO..
