New videos of the Ward D Vision 700

Postby Clive Ward » Sat Oct 25, 2014 1:46 pm

Hi guys,

I've been having a play with our new digital night vision rifle scope add on system recently.

Here's the first video of calling a fox in from over 200 yards:

And the second calling in from a more modest 100 yards but using a much smaller IR illuminator.

You can visit our website to see the whole range of night vision and thermal imagers we do.

Cheers

Hi there,

We don't have any dealers as all the sales now are direct to keep your costs down. We did used to sell through dealers but found they were mostly clueless and we still have one of them owing us thousands in unpaid invoices for business that we could have taken direct but sent their way to help them out :turd:

If you are keen you can just order one and if it doesn't suit then you can return it for a full refund. If you can wait a little while then we could sort out a demo unit for you to try out. Best bet is to first let me know what scopes you have and what distances you want to shoot over, then I can let you know if it's going to be suitable and what IR you need.

On the video the mag was 12-14x and as a bit of a guess I would say 40-60 yards when it was sat at the end.

Cheers

how long before you have a demo unit available Clive. :?:
I would guess that a maximum range for shooting would be 200- 250 yds and a lot closer if they'll play ball
what set up would I require for this range :?:

Hi there,

Demo unit should be about a week if we can keep on top of paid orders as they take a priority.

Maximum range on foxes is 350-400 yards with a suitable scope such as the MTC Mamba series and a 67mm LED IR illuminator. It's difficult to portray this maximum range on a video as the eyepiece view is always better than can be captured on a DVR.

For shooting at 200-250 the 67mm IR is still a good idea because it then gives you another couple of hundred yards view behind your target. We'll have a new range of 67mm IR illuminators coming out later this week at a fraction of the price of the NM X-Searcher 66mm IR.

Cheers

Hi Nigel,

No problem at all.

What day scopes do you currently have? For best results you need something with adjustable objective or sidewheel focus down to 25-30 yards.

It does work on fixed mag scopes but you need to keep the mag down to about 4-5x on those.

Cheers

Clive,
the .22-250 is currently wearing a MTC genesis 5-20x50 which is side wheel focusable so should fit the bill
this is a IR scope,so could this facility be used on a low setting with one of your units :?:

Hi Nigel,

That should work perfectly.

Illuminated reticule is no problem and doesn't cause any harm at all to the WDV.

Cheers

Hi Nigel,

I do apologise.

It's been so busy we've just found it impossible to set aside any demonstrator units at all. Even I don't have a proper one. I have to use one of the development models with a massive hole in the top for my shooting

It's only getting busier unfortunately.

The advice we're giving now is that if you mail order one you have 14 days to check it out at home to make sure it suits. Normally this only means inspecting it in the same way you would in a shop, but we are a little more relaxed and understand that people need to stick it on a rifle to make sure it suits. Then if you like it, keep it and if you don't, just send it back for a full refund.

Don't forget your discount code when ordering on the website.

Cheers

Looks well made and simple to set-up. He chucked in a bush for my Swaro z6i scope FOC too.
I got the T-67 IR illuminator, which is pretty chunky! I may look at a laser alternative.

I can see why there's no demo units around with something so considered a purchase, even with the generous Shootforum.com discount!

Hi Ted,

Glad it arrived safely and in time for the weekend.

Don't forget to follow the instructions written and verbal

I was indeed gutted for Ted. I fully understand the excitement of new toys and all the fun was sucked right out of it on this occasion.

New IR tested and on it's way to you today.

Hopefully smiling faces all round soon. Except for the foxes.
