Im sure all the Neds will rush out to get certs the only thing they have achieved is if someone is caught they will get charged with firearms offences
And the rest of us law abiding people get more hassles from licencing depts that are already struggling to keep up
Cheers

The logic that says you can be trusted with a rifle but not an air rifle so you have to apply for something else.

I am not sure you are correct: -
Final para in link: "People who already hold existing firearms or shotgun licences will not require a new certificate until their existing one is due for renewal".
Am I understanding this correctly?

7. I live in Scotland and already have a Shot Gun Certificate/Firearms Certificate. Do I need to apply for another licence for my air rifle?
Yes. However, those with an existing certificate would not need to apply for an airgun licence until their existing certificate/s expires. When renewing your existing Shot Gun or Firearms Certificate you would then be expected to apply for an airgun licence.
BASC tried to amend the Bill to exempt existing certificate holders but this was not accepted.
