New Toy...

Postby Tommo » Wed Mar 13, 2019 7:51 pm

Not wanting to rub it in too much but, as a Manxman and resident on the Isle of Man, I have just taken delivery of a new 'toy'. It's a Ruger SR1911 Lightweight Commander in 9mm. Shoots like a dream with Sellier & Bellot 124g FMJ. Only had time to put 50 rounds through it today but all bodes well for comps in the future. Enjoy the photos..

Shot at 25m in very windy conditions..!!

Happy days.. just got to source a .357 revolver and a .22 target pistol now..

Welcome to my world. Nice pistol. The 45 is a great caliber and the 1911's is a great gun. What 357 are you look to get? Smith & Wesson just reissued the Model 19 with a sleeved barrel. It's had some really nice reviews.

Hey Flinty.. Yeah the .45 is a great calibre, but my 1911 is 9mm.. there are a lot of people in my club that shoot the Ruger GP100. Mostly in .357/.38 flavours. Not sure what I'll look for yet, though it will be in .357 / .38 for sure. Like the look of the Ruger 22/45 LIte, they have them in some unusual colour schemes..!! Very Buck Rogers..!! I like the way it breaks down for cleaning; just press the tab at the rear, lift and slide forward. The whole thing attaches like O/U shotgun barrels..!! Cool.  :cheese:

LOL I just posted the question on handgun ownership on your post about getting your other guns back. Congrats on rejoining the handgunner club. Nice one by the way.

Just an update to the original post.. I have a new addition to the handgun 'collection'.. a very nice TAURUS .357Mag M669. Basically a very close copy of the S&W 66. This has a 6" barrel and is 6 shots. Oh and I've changed the grips on the 1911.. much better looking now.. Happy days..!!
